- If your part has electrical components remove them to ensure Retro-Brightening process won’t cause damage to them.
- Using regular soap and water to clean your electronics prior to applying Retro-Brite usually does wonders to remove dust, dirt, and caked on grime.
- Use Micro-Sol to remove any decals.
- Prevent overspray by spraying into a sink.
- Mask areas that you don't want exposed to Retro-Brite with electrical tape.
- Prevent hydrogen peroxide burns (temporary white marks on the skin) by wearing proper personal protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection.
- Prevent marbling by thoroughly covering your part with Retro-Brite and periodically check to ensure Retro-Brite covers all yellowed areas. If not, redistribute or add additional Retro-Brite.
- If you expose the part to natural sunlight, be sure to rotate it so the piece is exposed to sunlight evenly throughout the exposure period.
- If you spill Retro-Brite on your clothes, don’t fret! It doesn’t damage your clothes immediately. However, we recommend that you remove your clothes and wash them as soon as feasible.
- Retro-Brightening on a hot day speeds up the Retro-Brite process as heat speeds-up the decomposition of peroxide.
